Oh, I feel you on this one :) In college, the student org I led did a screening of Born into Brothels - we rented out a screen at the local theater and packed in a hundred undergrads and had discussion after. It was a pretty memorable experience!
I feel for you too! One birthday I was abroad by myself, so I went to the cinema as a birthday treat to myself and the only thing that was on was the Lives of Others, about the German Stasi. I ended up crying at in the cinema all by myself!
