Happy Birthday!

To, um, Me!

(Today I turned 22, which my sister informed me is "very old." She's turning 20 in a few days, which, in case you were wondering, is just "old.")

Have a wonderful Tuesday! I'm going to lounge around and continue enjoying the benefits of the massage I got earlier today.

And then do some homework. But it's my birthday, so I'm going to pretend that part doesn't exist.

Happy Birthday!! And since 20 is "old" and 22 is "very old"... that makes me "ancient". lol :)

Have a great birthday, sometimes doing nothing but relaxing is the best present of all!

Happy happy birthday, Meg! I hope your day was great! Now, I've got to go to bed, because at 24 6:30 is way past this elderly woman's bedtime, haha :)

Hi Meg,
When I am dealing with a painful situation, I always turn to CS Lewis's "A Grief Observed," which details his feelings after his wife passed away. The way he describes his pain is so poignant, and it helps me understand that I am not alone. Here are some of my favorite quotes in case you do not have time to look at it:

"No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear. I am not afraid, but the sensation is like being afraid. The same fluttering in the stomach, the same restlessness, yawning."

"And grief still feels like fear. Perhaps, more strictly, like suspense…It gives life a permanently provisional feeling."

"Now there is nothing but time. Almost pure time, empty successiveness."

"You can’t see anything properly while your eyes are blurred with tears."

Another piece of (admittedly unsolicited) advice, "The best revenge is living well." I'm not sure who said that, but I hope you'll consider it as you strive to move forward. You are in my prayers every night.

With much love in Christ!
